Veteran wildlife conservationist Bradley Trevor Grieve leads an elite team into the uncharted Alaskan wilderness in search of Grandfather, a bear locals believe is the largest to ever roam the earth. To prove the massive predator's existence, the team will rely on ancient indigenous tracking techniques to obtain DNA & video evidence of the beast.
Grandfather, who lives in Angoon Alaska, on all fours top his shoulders to the ground is 6 1/2 ft. which means when he stands up on top of his head to the ground is 13 ft. His DNA tested out as hybrid a mix between a Polar bear and Black bear they figure his weight to be at least 2650 lbs.
Researcher Bradley Trevor Greive believes Grandfather, is largest bear to ever roam the earth. This wasn’t just a spur of the moment decision. It took Greive years to do the research and he needed to get approval from the local chief to go into the wilderness that hasn’t been touched by humans in 400-500 years.
Now they have another exclusive sneak peek into the episode. This clip shows you just how big the bear is, along with how powerful. The bear footage camera allows Greive and his team a chance to see the bears and get an idea of the height. It’s set at 6ft and you’ll be surprised at the view you get of the bear as it walks past.
