Ghost Deer 10/26/15


"Ghost of the White Deer" ... Sometimes being in the Mountains hunting animals brings more than just a kill or trophy to the wild experience, it sometimes brings the amazing.. I've been tracking this Female White Deer for over a week now and the opportunity came this morning for a perfect shot. But I was always told it's Bad Medicine to kill a white deer. After all the hard work outsmarting her, I didn't have the heart to kill her, so I left her live another day...Also In Native American mythology there is the Chickasaw legend, Ghost of the White Deer.  There is also a Lenape legend about white deer that predicts that when a pair of all-white deer is seen together, it is a sign that the indigenous peoples of the Dawnland will all come together and lead the world with their wisdom.
Many tribes and indigenous peoples throughout the world have similar myths. The Seneca, Roanoke, Algonquin, Nanticoke, and Pocomoke tribes all relate sightings of the Great White Deer.
